Keep reading to learn more about why your filter is flashing and how you can get it working properly again.

Check if the water pressure is too low

If you want to fix filter flashing light, the first step you should take is to check the water pressure. If the pressure is too low, it can cause the flashing light to occur. There are a few different ways you can test the water pressure.
One method is to check the pressure gauge that is attached to your filter housing. Most pressure gauges will have a range marked on them and the ideal range should be between 20-80 psi (or pounds per square inch). If your pressure is below 20 psi, then it is likely that you have low water pressure and this could be causing your filter flashing light.
Another method you can use to check the water pressure is to turn on all of your faucets in the house at the same time and watch how quickly they fill up. If they fill up quickly and without any interruptions or drops in pressure, then the water pressure is likely fine. But if the faucets fill up slowly, with some drops in pressure or you hear noises like gurgling or bubbling, then this could be a sign of low water pressure and this could be causing your filter flashing light.
If you find that your water pressure is indeed too low, then you may need to increase it by increasing the water pressure regulator or by installing a new pressure tank. If you’re unsure how to do either of these, then it’s best to contact a professional plumber to help you out.

Clean or replace the pre-filter

If your filter’s flashing light is still not fixed after you’ve checked the water pressure, it may be time to clean or replace the pre-filter. This is a part of the filtration system that can become clogged or blocked over time. To clean it, turn off the water supply and remove the filter from its housing. Then, use a brush to gently scrub away any dirt or debris on the filter. Once it’s clean, replace the filter in its housing and turn the water back on.
If the pre-filter appears to be in good condition but is still not functioning properly, it may be time to replace it with a new one. It’s important to make sure the new pre-filter is compatible with your filtration system. Once you have install the new pre-filter, turn on the water supply and check if the filter’s flashing light has been fix.

Clean or replace the filter cartridge

If your filter light continues to flash after checking the water pressure and pre-filter, the next step is to clean or replace the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge should be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on the usage of your filter.
To clean your filter cartridge:

  1. Turn off the main water supply to the filter.
  2. Remove the filter cartridge from the filter housing.
  3. Clean the cartridge using a soft-bristled brush and a mild detergent, such as dish soap.
  4. Rinse the cartridge thoroughly under a stream of running water.
  5. Reinstall the cartridge into the filter housing and turn on the water supply.
If the filter cartridge is beyond cleaning, it should be replace with a new one. To replace the filter cartridge:

Check if the O-rings are damaged or missing

If the filter flashing light persists after cleaning and replacing the pre-filter and filter cartridge, it is likely due to damaged or missing O-rings. O-rings are rubber rings that help create a tight seal around the filter housing. Over time, these O-rings can become worn down and cracked, or they may even be missing altogether. To check for this issue, first remove the housing cover from your filter. Then, carefully inspect each of the O-rings for signs of damage or missing pieces. If you find any damaged O-rings, replace them immediately with new ones. If an O-ring is missing, you’ll need to purchase a new one of the correct size and install it before you can use your filter again.

Check if the valve is open

The valve is the last part of the filtration system and fix filter flashing light that controls water flow and pressure. If the valve is close, the filter can’t function properly, which could be causing your flashing light issue.
To check if the valve is open, start by unplugging your filter from the power source. Then, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the lid from your filter. Inside, you should see two ports: an inlet port and an outlet port. The valve is located between these two ports and should be open when the filter is in operation.
If it is closed, then open it manually by turning the knob counter-clockwise. Plug the filter back in and observe if the flashing light has been fix. If it still flashes, then there may be another issue with your filter and you may need to replace or repair it.
