Meet the Cast of DC Universe’s Stargirl

Kind-hearted high school athlete Cortney Whitmore’s life is turned on its head when her mother and new stepfather move her from the big city of Los Angeles to the small Nebraska town of Blue Valley. Here she learns the shocking secret that her stepfather was once a sidekick to a superhero called Starman. Courtney soon takes it upon herself to use Starman’s Cosmic Staff and become Stargirl, leading a new generation of heroes in defense of her new home and the world.

The hit series Stargirl, written and executively produced by Geoff Johns, first aired on the DC Universe streaming service and the CW network in May of 2020. The talented cast will bring the exciting story to life for a third season in the Spring of 2022.

Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl

Brec Bassinger won the Saturn Award for “Best Performance by a Younger Actor on a Television Series” in 2021 for her title role in Stargirl. Other notable credits from Bassinger include the 2015-2016 Nickelodeon series Bella and the Bulldogs, the 2018 teen comedy film Status Update, and the 2019 thriller 47 Meters Down Uncaged.

Brian Stapf as Ted Grant/Wildcat

Justice Society of America founder Ted Grant carried his heavyweight wrestling moniker Wildcat over into his hero career. His resilience and determination made him a force to be reckoned with until…oops! No spoilers! Stapf is known for his other side character roles in House of Cards and Outer banks on Netflix and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Nelson Lee as Dr. Shirto Ito/Dragon King

Dr. Shiro Ito is the Injustice Society of America’s villainous scientist known as Dragon King. As a result of grisly human experimentation conducted on multiple subjects including himself, he became mutated into a reptilian-human hybrid. Lee is most notably known for his role in Disney’s 2020 Mulan as the chancellor but has over 40 credits on IMBD as side characters in highly-rated shows like Law and OrderNCIS, and Blade: the Series.

Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite

Beth is the smart, quirky outcast of Blue Valley High who becomes Cortney’s first friend at her new school. She makes use of a highly advanced AI to become the superheroine Doctor Mid-Nite. Washington’s most notable credits aside from Stargirl are her role in the ensemble cast of the Showtime series Shameless and her recurring appearance in the CBS sitcom Young Sheldon
