Magical mountains of Kedarkantha
Kedarkantha lies in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand district. During the trek, you will go through avid flora, lake, pine, and many more astounding views. Kedarkantha trek is open in all the months of the year but the perfect time to plan it is in winter ( December – April).
It is covered with snow-capped mountains, prolific streams and splendid meadows. Kedarkantha cherishes its snowfall from December to April. Trek begins from a small distant hamlet called Sankri.
It’s a moderate trek, perfect for amateur trekkers. As you begin the hiking you will witness snow throughout your journey. Campsites are mesmerizing as it’s all covered with snow and camping in wildlife inside the snow is must take moment to capture. Each of the campsites is wonderful.
Vibrant campsites over a white blanket of snow are just a fun-loving moment and breathtaking experience that feels like living in heaven and tranquility. Adventure seekers may call it a paradise. From the summit, you can see panoramic views of the Himalayas and various peaks like Swaragrohini, Banderpoonch, etc.
Kedarkantha is the most famous winter trek in Uttarakhand. Hence, the Kedarkantha trek is an eminent and well-known trek in Uttarakhand. It has got undefeated beauty in winter and the mountain hides in a thick blanket of snow. It is a well known destination. Swargarogini is the tiara of the Garhwal Himalayas. You will see this splendid peak throughout the Kedarkantha trek. Swargarohini consists of 4 peaks and all have unique shapes. It is one of the most popular and mesmerizing peaks in Uttarakhand.
Swarg means heaven and Rohini means a path, hence, Swargarohini means a straight path to heaven.
Kalang and Bandarpoonch
Kalang is another peak with a distinct shape. The name of the peak means the hood of the black cobra. It is located within the Bandarpoonch mountain range.
On the other side, Bandarpoonch derives from Hanuman, the monkey God and a potent warrior in Hindu mythology.
Did you know Tenzing Norgay, the sherpa who was the member of the first-ever group to climb Mt.Everest in 1953, had climbed Bandarpoonch first? The renowned mountaineer was also a member of the first group to ever mounted Bandarpoonch back in 1950.
Saru Tal Trek
The Saru Tal trek is a trek to pure water of the Sar Lake located at an elevation of 4200 meter on the inner side of the western Garwal Himalayas. It’s a 10-day easy trek that commences offevolved from Sankri being the bottom trek.
The Saru Tal is located in such a place wherein the temperature on noontime is normal while the nights are cold. You will start to enjoy the awesome meadows and the incommunicable approach of the Himalayas will blow your desires at the very beginning of this journey.
Ruinsara Tal Trek
While discovering deep into the beautiful valleys of Garhwal, you’ll be astounded by the support of using the airy splendor of Ruinsara Tal.
