You’ll need to provide your name, address, city and postcode so we can send you a security code by text message or email.
You don’t need to provide any other personal details such as your date of birth or national insurance number.
The security code will be sent to you on either a mobile phone number or email address that we have on file for you. Once you’ve received this, create a memorable password and select an image (for example, your pet dog).
You’ll need your Royal Bank of Scotland debit card and PIN.
In order to set up RBS online banking, you will need your debit card and your PIN. You’ll also need your account details, including the long number on the bottom of your RBS debit card and your sort code.

To sign up for online banking, you can visit the site rbs.co.uk/onlinebanking. This is a secure website that will allow you to access your accounts as well as enable you to make payments and view statements. You can also use this site to manage your savings account, personal loan and credit card accounts, as well as mobile banking services. It’s easy to navigate through the site and find what you’re looking for!

- Enter some details, then click ‘Next’ until you’re prompted to enter your debit card number and PIN. Once that’s done, return to the previous page and click ‘Continue’.
